34th Annual “The Ben to the Shore”
On Sunday, August 29th, 2,000 riders made their way to Atlantic City for the 34th Annual Ben to Shore Bike Tour, which supports Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, a Philadelphia-based non-profit dedicated to supporting the families of fallen and critically injured first responders and building healthy connections in the communities they serve. This annual charity ride has deep roots in NSM’s corporate culture — as we have been the lead corporate sponsor for many years and our CEO, Geof McKernan, is chair of the foundation’s board.
Whether they trekked 65-miles from Franklin Square in Philadelphia or 50-miles from Berlin, NJ, these riders were brave and fierce — and managed riding through rainy weather no less. But wet weather conditions were no match for these riders or the essential volunteers onsite in Philadelphia and in Atlantic City! We’re proud to share that Team NSM raised $50,000 this year to support the important work done by Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation.
After last year’s hiatus due to the restrictions of the pandemic, it was incredible to be back in person this year — meeting old friends, making new ones and, most importantly, promoting the mission of the foundation and their various initiatives within the Philadelphia and South Jersey communities.
Hats off to everyone who worked so hard to make this year’s event happen and special thanks to Team NSM Captain, Todd Buzby and NSM Volunteer Captain, Jim Kilgallen — your time and efforts are inspiring and greatly appreciated!
