Our renowned summer internship program is designed to help students launch their careers in insurance through meaningful assignments, networking and robust training.

Qualifications

Rising Junior/Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree
Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work a hybrid schedule both in the office and remote

The Power of Mentorship

One of the most integral parts of our summer internship is having a mentor who will serve as your dedicated guide, coach and friend — likely beyond the 12 weeks of the program. Our mentors do not take their responsibility as a mentor lightly. They possess a strong willingness to share their skills, knowledge and expertise, and are committed to helping interns get the most out of their experience.

We’re fully committed to supporting your growth and giving you a rewarding experience from Day 1 with formal on-the-job training, exposure to senior leaders, real world problem solving and fun networking events like happy hours, dinner with our CEO and meaningful community work by supporting our annual The Ben to The Shore.

Help Give Back

Interns are encouraged to participate in the company’s largest philanthropic initiative — the annual Ben to the Shore Bike Tour. This charity bike ride supports Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation and raises critical funds for fallen first responders and their families. Every summer our interns step up and do the 65-mile bike ride or volunteer at the event. Here’s what one of our interns had to say who accepted the challenge to do the ride:

The experience is unlike anything I’ve seen before. People from all walks of life coming together because of a common love for their community. There was a wide range of riders from a man on a unicycle, to people towing their children behind their bikes, to riders who most certainly race in competitions. It did not matter if you came in first, last, or were picked up by a support van along the way — everyone is proud to come together in unity for the families of first responders. I can’t say that I broke any speed records, but I did cross the finish — and for that I am proud. Proud that I completed the ride (with my bike still intact!) and proud to be an intern representing NSM.
