Jared Wisocky
From intern to manager
In 2009, NSM hired the company’s first intern, Jared Wisocky, to help digitize paper files. With the promise of completing this project, along with obtaining his Property & Casualty license, Jared was told that he would be able to take on a full-time role within the company. Today, our very first intern holds a managerial position, one he has worked toward since he began transferring files over a decade ago. Jared is an Underwriting Manager on our CHAMP team, which is a very complex space serving CAT-prone coastal condos. Jared is also the Volunteer Captain for the annual The Ben to The Shore Bike Tour, which is NSM’s largest philanthropic initiative.
“People here are willing to step up and help others. Employees will go above and beyond to take on various roles when needed. That’s a very unique aspect of our company.”
The culture is ultimately what makes Jared stay at NSM. “It’s the face-to-face collaboration we have with one another. We are a team. I grew up playing a lot of sports, so I know a good teamwork environment when I see it,” Jared says. “People here are willing to step up and help others. Employees will go above and beyond to take on various roles when needed. That’s a very unique aspect of our company.” Jared describes his team members as go-getters and has found over the years that if you are able to manage your desk and anything that comes across it, NSM will be a great place for you to grow.
