Sara Hunt started her NSM journey as an intern for our in-house claims team in 2018. NSM was extremely supportive throughout the interview process to ensure Sara’s interests and personality would align with the team based on her criminal justice degree. As soon as her internship began, Sara loved being exposed to learning as much as she could about the insurance industry. This ultimately led her to realize that this would be a long-term place for her. “From the first month here, I knew that this was something I really wanted to do long term,” Sara says, “I could tell that NSM was a great company that had a great culture, great people and a lot of drive to help you be your best.” Throughout the internship program, Sara fostered relationships both internally and externally, helping with whatever was needed. “The internship program made me optimistic for what a career could ultimately look like at NSM,” she says.

Sara transitioned into a part-time role at NSM during her senior year of college where she began working and training to earn a full-time position as Claims Coordinator. Two years into this role, Sara earned a promotion to Claim Specialist I. She says she builds success at NSM by being a resource for everyone she interacts with. “There’s no internship like this,” Sara says. “They really want you to get in and touch on everything. Talk to everyone. NSM sees you as a team member as soon as you walk into these office doors.”
